New York City Schools: Following the Learning Trajectories of a Cohort

This paper examines the barriers and obstacles students and schools experience in achieving college and career readiness and how they may be overcome. It notes the persistence of achievement gaps among different groups of the cohort that entered kindergarten in New York City public schools in 1996 through their graduation and, for some, entrance to college.
